Resolution Relative to Repealing and Recreating the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual Policy No. 1403, Disciplinary Action, Repeal Policy No. 1410, Grievances and Amending Policy No. 1455, Managerial Service (Division Head) Conditions of Employment, Section 5.2.2 Term under Human Resources and Amend Policy No. 405, Disciplinary Action for City Officials and Department Heads Appointed by the Mayor and Confirmed by the Common Council, Section 5.2.8 Form of Discipline under Mayor.

Body

WHEREAS, 2011 Wisconsin Acts 10 and 32 mandate that the City adopt specific procedures for certain employees; and,

WHEREAS, Policy No. 1403, Disciplinary Action was originally included in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual on January 23^rd, 2006, Policy No. 1410, Grievances was originally included in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual on January 1^st, 1982, Policy No. 1455, Managerial Service (Division Head) Conditions of Employment was originally included in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual on July 6^th, 1999 and Policy No. 405, Disciplinary Action for City Officials and Department Heads Appointed by the Mayor and Confirmed by the Common Council was originally included in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual on January 23^rd, 2006; and,

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend said policies at this time, which are now mandated by state law.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that

Policy No. 1403, Disciplinary Action, Policy No. 1410, Grievances and Policy No. 1455, Managerial Service (Division Head) Conditions of Employment, Section 5.2.2 Term under Human Resources and Policy No. 405, Disciplinary Action for City Officials and Department Heads Appointed by the Mayor and Confirmed by the Common Council, Section 5.2.8 Form of Discipline under Mayor are approved as presented in the attached restatements.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrative Officer, Clerk/Treasurer is authorized and directed to Repeal and Recreate Policy No. 1403, Disciplinary Action, Repeal Policy No. 1410, Grievances and Amending Policy No. 1455, Managerial Service (Division Head) Conditions of Employment, Section 5.2.2 Term under Human Resources and Amend Policy No. 405, Disciplinary Action for City Officials and Department Heads Appointed by the Mayor and Confirmed by the Common Council, Section 5.2.8 Form of Discipline under Mayor in the City's Policies & Procedures Manual and distribute said policies to all departments, divisions and offices.
