Resolution authorizing a contract in the sum of $3,000, by and between the City of West Allis and Albert A. Muchka, for research to compile a pictorial history of the City of West Allis
Body
WHEREAS, the Historical Commission of the City of West Allis (the "Commission") wishes to protect, enhance, preserve such improvements, sites, and districts which represent or reflect elements of the City of West Allis' cultural, social, economic, political and architectural history; and
WHEREAS, the Commission, wishing to commemorate the City's 100th Anniversary in 2006, has determined a publication of historic images would celebrate the rich history, innovation, industriousness, and adaptability of the people of West Allis; and,
WHEREAS, Albert A. Muchka, West Allis resident and member of the West Allis Historical Society, received acceptance from Arcadia Publishing Company to complete a pictorial history of West Allis as part of the Images of America Series; and,
WHEREAS, Albert A. Muchka has submitted a communication and a proposed scope of services (copy attached), requesting financial assistance for research and photographic reproduction costs that will be incurred for the publication; and,
WHEREAS, Albert A. Muchka, as designated author of the publication, has agreed to assign all royalties to the Commission; and,
WHEREAS, the Commission, after review and consideration of the communication submitted by Albert A. Muchka, at its meeting of June 11, 2003, recommended Common Council approval of the proposed project and the allocation of the sum of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000) from the Historical Commission Fund for the research and photographic reproduction costs of a pictorial journal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of West Allis approves the professional services contract in the amount of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000), by and between the City of West Allis and Albert A. Muchka, for research and photographic reproduction costs incurred for the publication of
a pictorial history of the City of West Allis.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Development, by its Director, its designee, be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver the aforesaid Contract on behalf of the City of West Allis.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be and is hereby authorized to make such non-substantive changes, modifications, additions and deletions to and from the various provisions of the Contract, including any and all attachments, exhibits, addendums and amendments, as may be necessary and proper to correct inconsistencies, eliminate ambiguity and otherwise clarify and supplement said provisions to preserve and maintain the general intent thereof, and to prepare and deliver such other and further documents as may be reasonably necessary to complete the transactions contemplated therein.
