WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and City of West Allis Department of Public Works are partnering during the Zoo Interchange Reconstruction Project to ensure safer and more efficient travel in the City of West Allis.
 
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation has requested the transfer of ownership and operational responsibility for the purpose of controlling the flow of traffic and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation shall operate and adjust the traffic signal controls in such a manner as to best meet prevailing traffic conditions as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, and will consider input from the City of West Allis Engineering Department.
 
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be responsible for all material, equipment, labor, training and incidental costs associated with maintaining, operating, modifying or removing the traffic signal system equipment at these four locations.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter into these agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for this project.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer forward a certified copy of this Resolution, together with the executed State/Municipal Agreements, to the office of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and take whatever further action is required to initiate and effect the services described herein.
