Title

Resolution to approve Memorandum of Understanding by and between the City of West Allis and the Governmental Agencies comprising the Milwaukee High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) relating to hiring of a Temporary Limited Term Employee.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the governmental agencies comprising the Milwaukee High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) currently have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of West Allis to provide certain purchasing and fiscal agent services; and

 

WHEREAS, HIDTA wishes to hire a person to serve as the Minnesota State HIDTA Coordinator on a limited term basis and does not have the ability to hire such a person; and

 

WHEREAS, the City is willing to hire such a limited term employee to so serve as HIDTA’s Minnesota State Coordinator on an eleven month limited term basis; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners of the City of West Allis will review the attached Memorandum of Understanding at its regularly scheduled meeting on April 20, 2017.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Memorandum of Understanding by and between the HITDA and the City of West Allis, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, be and is hereby approved, contingent upon approval by the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners on April 20, 2017.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Officers be and are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver the aforesaid Memorandum on behalf of the City of West Allis.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be and is hereby authorized to make such  non-substantive changes, modifications, additions and deletions to and from the various provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding, including any and all attachments, exhibits, addendums and amendments, as may be necessary and proper to correct inconsistencies, eliminate ambiguity, and otherwise clarify and supplement said provisions to preserve and maintain the general intent thereof, and to prepare and deliver such other and further documents as may be reasonably necessary to complete the transactions contemplated therein.
