Title

Resolution to approve a sole source contract with Tarantino & Company, LLC for submittal of Section 202 Financing Application for the Beloit Senior Housing Complex.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis (the “City”), owns the Beloit Road Senior Housing Complex (“the Property”) located at 7205-7333 W. Beloit Rd., 2521-2529 S. 72 St., 7216-7312 W. Dreyer Place and 7211-7341 W. Dreyer Place; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Housing & Urban Development (“HUD”) has announced an application round for the availability of Section 202 funding for the development and operation of supportive housing for very low-income persons 62 years of age or older; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Beloit Road Senior Housing Complex is an eligible property to seek Section 202 funding; and,

 

WHEREAS, Tarantino & Company, LLC is a capable firm with a successful record in obtaining Section 202 funding; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Executive Director recommends entering into a contract with Tarantino& Company, LLC for completing an application to HUD for the Section 202 funding.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that it hereby approves as follows:

 

1.                     That the Development Department Director or its designee, be and is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver the aforesaid Contract on behalf of the City of West Allis.

 

2.                     That the sum of $10,000 be and is hereby appropriated for the contract and necessary environmental reports for the submittal of a Section 202 Application for the Beloit Road Senior Housing Complex and to be funded by the Beloit Road Senior Operating Reserve Fund or Section 8 funds to meet the City's obligations under the aforesaid Agreement.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be and is hereby authorized to make such non-substantive changes, modifications, additions and deletions to and from the various provisions of the Contract, including any and all attachments, exhibits, addendums and amendments, as may be necessary and proper to correct inconsistencies, eliminate ambiguity and otherwise clarify and supplement said provisions to preserve and maintain the general intent thereof, and to prepare and deliver such other and further documents as may be reasonably necessary to complete the transactions contemplated therein.
