Resolution to facilitate the purchase of 480 96-gallon garbage carts and 100 96-gallon recycling carts in the amount of $33,698.

WHEREAS, the Refuse Ordinance mandating the use of City-issued containers/carts for one, two, three family residential family dwellings was amended and approved in November 2021; and,
WHEREAS, the full price fee per unit for a 96-gallon garbage/recycling cart will be $58 given the proposal dated January 25, 2023 to adequately recover expenses for the purchase of said garbage/recycling carts; and,
WHEREAS, the Finance Department-Purchasing received Sourcewell Cooperative Contract Quote #Q40496 for purchase and delivery of 480 each 96-gallon garbage carts for the total amount of $24,400 and 100 96-gallon recycling carts for the total amount of $6,298 and shipping to include $1,000; and,
WHEREAS, the City’s Solid Waste Utility account 550-4233-535.53.53 will provide necessary funding for the total sum of $32,698.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated January 25, 2023, submitted by Cascade Engineering for providing for 480 each, 96-gallon refuse carts and 100 each, 96-gallon recycling carts for a total net sum of $32,698 be and hereby accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Department-Purchasing be and hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the aforesaid materials.
