Resolution authorizing and directing the Interim City Engineer to enter into a State/Municipal Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the reconstruction of W. National Ave. from S. 95th St. to S. 108th St.

WHEREAS, W. National Ave. from S. 95th St. to S. 108th St. is in very poor condition with the overlying asphalt being worn and cracked and the base concrete being heaved and cracked extensively as well; and,
WHEREAS, W. National Ave. was originally built with concrete pavement in 1959-1961 and resurfaced in 1992; and,
WHEREAS, the WisDOT has notified the City that this project has been selected for funding up to $4,470,309 in the current biennium with the understanding that it will be fully funded in the next biennium; and,
WHEREAS, the State/Municipal Agreement includes the following major items; Design, State Review and Construction for the concrete pavement, sidewalks, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, and street lighting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Interim City Engineer be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with the WisDOT for the Project (State ID 2410-15-00), a copy of the State/Municipal Agreement is attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the total eligible estimated design project cost is $1,928,600 of which $1,542,880 is the Federal share and the remaining $385,720 is the local municipal share. It is understood that West Allis will pay to the State all costs incurred by the State in connection with this project, which exceed the Federal financing commitments, or are ineligible for Federal financing.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the total eligible estimated construction project cost is $13.5 million of which $10.8 million is anticipated to be the Federal share and the remaining $2.7 million is anticipated to be the local municipal share when the project is fully funded in the next ...
