Resolution to authorize the purchase of one Aries Pathfinder TV Inspection System mounted in a Ford Transit chassis for a sum of $265,147.

WHEREAS, the Public Works Sanitation and Street Division previously owned sewer televising maintenance equipment, but it began malfunctioning and was sold; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department currently spends over 500 hours each year coordinating and bidding out to contractors our televising program for the city sewer system. This televising work costs approximately $95,000 each year for a private contractor to perform the work; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Sanitation and Street Division and Engineering Department are in need of a sewer televising truck in order to shorten the televising process and save money while also televising more sewer on a routine basis with an ability to launch lateral inspections in emergency situations and with the ability to remove roots and deposits during the jetting and cleaning of our sewers; and,
WHEREAS, the 2021 approved budget includes $300,000 for the purchase of the televising truck; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Fleet Services Division has reported that it has received multiple proposals for delivering the sewer televising truck, and has determined that the proposal from Envirotech Equipment, Supplier of Aries Pipeline Inspection Equipment, for the Aries Pathfinder TV Inspection System and Ford Chassis, meets all the desired specifications, and the proposal received is reasonable; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposals of Envirotech Equipment be accepted.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated October 21, 2021 by Envirotech Equipment for furnishing and delivering one (1) Aries Pathfinder TV Inspection System mounted on a 2022 Ford Transit Chassis for $265,147 is hereby accepted.
