Resolution authorizing the City Engineer to amend an existing contract with Spohn Ranch, Inc. to make improvements at the West Allis Skate Park for an amount not to exceed $76,000
Body
WHEREAS, Spohn Ranch LLP has provided engineering services to the City on two skateboard projects, the West Allis Skate Park and at Liberty Heights Park, and City staff were satisfied with the services the firm has provided in the past; and,

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis has been experiencing erosion issues and vandalism damage at the West Allis Skate Park which was built in 2014 and designed by Spohn Ranch, Inc.; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has reported that it has received cooperative proposals through the Sourcewell National Cooperative Contract, formerly named NJPA, Sourcewell Contract #030117-SRI for construction services from Spohn Ranch, Inc. which will address the erosion issues and vandalism damage, and that Spohn Ranch, Inc. has agreed to waive the engineering costs on this project; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has determined that the cooperative agreement proposal received is reasonable; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposal of Spohn Ranch, Inc. be accepted; and,

WHEREAS, the funding to be used for this project consists of private donations received from The Windhover Foundation, Inc.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated August 19, 2020 submitted by Spohn Ranch, Inc. for installing improvements at the West Allis Skate Park for an amount not to exceed $76,000 be and is hereby accepted. Funding for this project has been received in the form of private donations from the Windhover Foundation, Inc. and the services will be charged to Account Number 350-6003-517.31-01.
