Resolution authorizing the purchase of two (2) 2019 AWD Dodge Charger Pursuit unmarked squad cars from Ewald Automotive Group, for a sum not to exceed $50,000

WHEREAS, $25,000 has been approved as part of the 2019 City Capital Improvement Budget for Investigative Squads; and
WHEREAS, the West Allis Police Department has sufficient funds in the amount of $25,000 in its State Forfeiture Account; and
WHEREAS, Ewald Automotive Group, the State of Wisconsin contract holder, has provided pricing for 2019 police-issue government vehicles, and the cost of a Dodge Charger Pursuit is approximately $24,000 per vehicle; and
WHEREAS, the Police and Fire Commission has previously approved the purchase of these vehicles at its meeting on October 17, 2019.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal, submitted by Ewald Automotive Group, for furnishing and delivering two (2) Dodge Charger Pursuits, will be ordered for a total net sum not to exceed $50,000, be and is hereby accepted. Funding for this purchase is available in the 2019 Capital Improvement Budget, Police, Vehicles, Account No. 352-2101-521.70-02, in the amount of $25,000, and the West Allis Police Department State Asset Forfeiture Account, Misc-Expense, Account No. 214-0801-521.64-08, in the amount of $25,000.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Purchasing Division be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the aforesaid vehicles.
