Resolution approving the gifting of Canine Sonny from the West Allis Police Department to Detective Jeff Zientek.
Body
WHEREAS, Canine Sonny began his career on May 3, 2010 and was assigned as the full time partner of Jeff Zientek; and
WHEREAS, Canine Sonny and Detective Jeff Zientek have participated in numerous narcotics seizures and demonstrations for the community; and
WHEREAS, Canine Sonny and Detective Zientek are a well-respected Canine team in the State of Wisconsin and have been excellent ambassadors for the West Allis Police Department and the City of West Allis; and
WHEREAS, Canine Sonny and Detective Zientek have received various awards and are very well respected in the Canine Law Enforcement Community; and
WHEREAS, Canine Sonny will retire from police service on March 18, 2019.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that effective March 18, 2019, Canine Sonny be given as a gift to Detective Jeff Zientek with the obligation that Detective Zientek assumes future costs, liabilities, and responsibilities associated with Canine Sonny.
