Title

Resolution authorizing the City Engineer to amend an existing agreement with Barrientos Design & Consulting, Inc. for Architectural Consulting Services related to Site Selection, Facility Programing and a Time Management Study for the City’s DPW Municipal Garage in an amount not to exceed $51,500 and authorizing and directing the appropriate City officials to execute a budget amendment to transfer the necessary funds for this work.

 

Body

WHEREAS, The Purchasing/Central Services Division previously reported that it duly advertised a Request for Proposal on behalf of the City of West Allis Engineering Department for  Architectural Consulting Services related to the ADA remodeling work at City Hall and the evaluation team unanimously recommended that the agreement be awarded to the best qualified firm, Barrientos Design & Consulting, Inc.; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City subsequently entered into a Professional Service contract with Barrientos Design & Consulting, Inc. for Architectural Consulting Services related to the design of the ADA remodeling at City Hall in the amount of $16,972; and,

 

WHEREAS, The West Allis Common Council authorized an amendment to the Professional Service contract with Barrientos Design & Consulting, Inc. on September 6, 2016 (R-2016-0230)  for Architectural Consulting Services related to the design of the Police Training Facility in the amount of $8,640; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City will need further assistance from Barrientos Design & Consulting, Inc. for Architectural Consulting Services related to Site Selection, Facility Programing and a Time Management Study for the City’s DPW Municipal Garage in an amount not to exceed $51,500.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that up to $51,500 is hereby approved for Barrientos Design & Consulting, Inc. for Architectural Consulting Services related to Site Selection, Facility Programing and a Time Management Study for the City’s DPW Municipal Garage.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funding for this purchase has not been budgeted; however this project will cost $51,500, with the cost being funded by the cancellation of One Wing Blade and One Concrete Saw to be purchased in the Vehicle Capital Fund Budget, Account Number 100-4501-533.70-02.  So the funds for this purchase are available in the Vehicle Capital Fund budget, and the appropriate City officials are directed and authorized to execute a budget amendment transferring $51,500 from Account Number 100-4501-533.70-02, Vehicle Capital Fund to Account Number 354-6052-533.31-02, Capital Improvement Buildings & Facility Project Activities Other, and charge these services to Account Number 354-6052-533.31-02, Capital Improvement Buildings & Facility Project Activities Other.

 

 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Common Council authorizes the City Engineer to negotiate, enter into, execute and deliver an amended agreement by and between the City of West Allis and Barrientos Design & Consulting, Inc. for the aforesaid services.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be and is hereby authorized to make such substantive changes, modifications, additions and deletions to and from the various provisions of the contract, including any and all attachments, exhibits, addendums and amendments, as may be necessary and proper to correct inconsistencies, eliminate ambiguity and otherwise clarify and supplement said provisions to preserve and maintain the general intent thereof, and to prepare and deliver such other and further documents as may be reasonably necessary to complete the contract contemplated therein.
